Carson Burns, AGNP-C
I am a member of Midwest Physicians, an integrated, multi-specialty group that strives to provide high quality, compassionate healthcare in an affordable, timely, and accessible manner. Our doctors collaborate with patients, their physician colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to help ensure each patient’s individual healthcare needs are met.
My name is Carson Burns, AGNP-C, and I am a newly board-certified adult-gerontology nurse practitioner. Although I am new to the role of NP, I am not new to oncology as I have been working in this field for over 5 years. Throughout my nursing career I have gained experience in both hematology-oncology and medical and surgical oncology practice; as a chemotherapy certified nurse, I am also very experienced in the administration and management of antineoplastic agents for a variety of diagnoses. In addition to my degree as an NP, I have a Master’s degree in education, and I am passionate about educating patients and their families about diagnoses and treatments so that they feel prepared, confident, and comfortable with the care they are receiving.
I am an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Oncology Nursing Society, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University and received both my Master’s degree and Post-Master’s Certificate from Research College of Nursing.
